A marble staircase runs up between two statues, the ceiling above it is gilded, and there is enough room at the foot of it for a gown to be opened out properly. Salon 1905<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The room is built for entrances, so that is what I photograph: the walk down, the turn at the landing, the moment the train settles on the marble.
