The rooms are close and warm rather than grand: dark wood, shelves of books, patterned wallpaper, and lamps that do most of the work once the afternoon light drops. I work with the lamps that are already there and with whatever comes through the windows, and I stay out of the way \u2014 a room this size does not take two photographers and a light stand.
